Provided the Lucite, Swarovski, and bright, bling-y metals of Alexis Bittar’;s jewelry line, it comes as a bit of surprise that his NYC apartment, featured now on Elledecor.com, has nary a glitzy anything at all in sight. Instead, Bittar’;s property is filled with sturdy wooden antiques, textiles ranging from tribal (a throw) to Persian (a rug), and an eclectic assortment of ar2rk (including a “provocative Victorian painting of a girl in mourning he labels as “bizarre”). Although a forearm-complete of massive plastic neon bangles and these chilled-out interiors may seem to have been birthed by distinct creatures, Bittar factors out that “in my jewellery shade palette that I mirror sensibilities in some of the paintings that I have. For illustration, I will use a dash of red as an accent as an alternative of a bulk.” Then: “I feel some folks come above and think the issues I personal are creepy.”
