No 1 could ever call Jonathan Adler a conservative designer. Or a sedate one, for that matter. But he’;s certain acquired that elusive quality, the one the French contact ‘je ne sais quoi’;, that absolutely everyone is seeking for. And he’;s acquired colour – plenty of it. He aims for “sophisticated” and “extravagant” and he aces people in spades. He lives to produce, and surrounds himself with imaginative folks. His Interior Design efforts are just portion of his wildly successful job that includes a ceramics line, a furniture line, 28 retail stores and a Television display (between other adventures). His interior design gigs have run the gamut from the prestigious Parker Palm Springs Hotel to the sassy actual Barbie Dream Residence. His standard suggestions to the home designer? “Each area needs an anchor and a star.” And don’;t overlook the wild displays of colour. As Adlder advised Interior Layout magazine: “It truly is a wonderful time for dude to connect with his inner peacock.”
