But just before the work on the trellis can commence I had to do some thing with the ugly concrete that made up the patio. My initial option was to cover it with either brick pavers or teak decking tiles but the 2 of these came in more than $ 1,000 (ouch) and I wanted to do this inexpensively.

The surface was SO blotchy but it was in excellent form so stain was my answer.
I bought this concrete stain from Sherwin Williams…
I had them tint it a very dark gray. It was also considerably thicker that I liked so I extra a lot of water to get it to a nice consistency that was straightforward to spread. For less than $ forty my patio actually looks like new.
It was merely a matter of rolling it on with a thick roller pad.
It dries really quickly and now it appears so considerably smoother and newer, also.
