In Hiroshi Kuno‘s design and style Brother’s Property, he wished to emulate nature in a way. Nature basically exists with out pretense, without an expectation of what you will do on or with a specific place.
So it is with Brother’s Residence, a basic 2-story home with curved partitions separating the interior volumes. From the outdoors, it appears like a white cube with 2 transparent sides.
Although 2 stories substantial, the home’s volume is undivided by a central floor/ceiling, making a light-filled space that is unhindered by the anticipated chambers and divisions.
Likewise, the 2 curving interior partitions do not prescribe a specific program for each and every section of the house. The spaces can change functionality as essential throughout the day.
Single bare light bulbs improve the feeling of austerity and the absence of pre-programmed functions. Voluminous fabric shades allow for the windows to be covered, guarding the residents’ privacy.
The sweeping white partitions, light timber, and enormous windows generate an even greater sense of room and connect the residents to their beautiful organic surroundings.
