The 1000 square foot pool house is made to be multifunctional, the open-room interiors can effortlessly transform from a pool home to a guesthouse to entertainment room to work studio and occasion room. To emphasize the pool house’s mid-century modern language, the flat roof was accentuated by bringing the roofline forward, creating a floating brow. Windows had been pushed flush to the ceiling to articulate the plane of the roof and offer sunlight while delivering privacy for visitors. Formerly produced of stone, the exterior cladding was relined with lighter and warmer cedar slats. The focal level – the oval pool – was re-imagined with no altering its shape by means of extending the patio parallel to the flatness of the roof. (by means of)
