Czech designer Martin Jakobsen’s ‘Malva’ vase holds its flowers all the way within its glass enclosure and, as the designer says, “for that reason there is no untidiness”.

“Its geometric form was inspired by Czech Cubism.” says Jakobsen. “Members of this motion realised the epochal significance of the Cubism of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque and attempted to extract its elements for their very own work in all branches of artistic creativity. Czech Cubists distinguish their function by way of the building of sharp points, slicing planes, and crystalline shapes in their art functions. These angles permitted the Czech Cubists to incorporate their personal trademark in the avant-garde art group of Modernism.”
