When an old Victorian home in Melbourne’s bustling suburb of Richmond was given some significantly required interest it took on a whole new personality. Supplying sky line views and cleverly considered-out out interior spaces, this Richmond Hill home is the perfect contrast of previous and new.

Developed by Rob Kennon Architects, the restoration of this household residence noticed the original Victorian building restored, although a very modern residing room was launched at the rear.
Maintaining the authentic Victorian details was important to the accomplishment of this restoration – 4 unique bedrooms at the front of the home have been restored, a rear lean-to was removed and a bathroom was introduced. Detailing was stripped back to highlight classy authentic fire area arches, Baltic pine flooring, and timber mouldings.
The rear addition nevertheless tells its own story. Connected to the unique building only by a glass link, the new structure is a refreshing contrast to the old. Giving an open residing spot, upper-degree master bedroom, and a carport, the new addition is united by a mass of oak, as properly as superbly regarded information junctions, doors, and recesses. But probably the largest surprise of all is the inclusion of a secret roof-best lookout – and situated near the best of Richmond Hill the skyline views are absolutely well worth it.
